What is MBSR?

Mindulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is an evidence-based 8-week intensive program developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn to help manage physical and psychological dis-ease.

Who’s Teaching?

I’ll be co-teaching this session of MBSR with Danielle Brockmann of The Let Go Cure.

Both trained and qualified by Brown University, together, we’ll offer two different perspectives and two different voices to bring a more dynamic approach to this standardized program.

Julia Rebecca Miron is a mindfulness teacher, coach, and writer featured in Chicken Soup for the Soul.

Qualified by Brown University to teach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), she brings over 15 years of personal practice to her work.

Julia is also a certified Speaking Circles® Facilitator and host of The Messy Meditator Podcast.

With a down-to-earth, real-talk approach, she supports clients and students in navigating and embracing mindfulness, messiness, and life. In her spare time, she loves hiking, gardening, spending time with friends, listening to music (particularly R&B and hip hop), and going to live shows.

Danielle Brockmann, NBC-HWC, RCPC has held a(n almost) daily meditation practice for over 20 years, much to the annoyance of family, friends, and colleagues whom she invites to sit with her, non-judgmentally of course.

Danielle helps clients make health behavior changes and manage chronic illness as a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach, Root Cause Protocol Consultant, and energy worker certified in Reiki & Medical Biomagnetism.

Currently, she is pursuing a M.S. in Human Nutrition at the University of Bridgeport on the Certified Nutrition Specialist pathway.

Danielle serves as an advocate for Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and was selected to participate in The Ehlers-Danlos Society’s EDS ECHO Healthcare Student Program for 2025.

A Few Words About Tech:

  • MBSR has traditionally been in person, but thanks to the wonders of modern tech, this session will be offered via Zoom, and to get the most out of it, you’ll need:

  • A quiet, distraction-free space (that means no multitasking)

  • A willingness to actually show up and engage (camera stays on, yo!)

  • A commitment to home practice (this is what the program is all about)

Frequently Asked Questions:

  • No! MBSR is designed for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. You’ll be guided through all practices step by step.

  • While it's important to do the practices as designed, for maximum benefit, I understand that time is a very limited resource for most of us.

If you can only do 20 or 30 minutes a day, do that. Something is better than nothing. Just do your best.

And remember, this program is meant to stretch us. It’s a good opportunity to see how far you really can stretch.

  • Attending all sessions is necessary to receive the full benefits of the program. If you think you’ll miss more than one class, it’s best to wait for a future session. The full-day retreat is required.

  • For this pilot program, the cost is $250.

    Reduced Rate: $200

    Pay-it-forward Rate: $300

The price will increase in future rounds.
